Bird Walks – KTOS leads several monthly bird walks, usually at the better birdwatching locations in the area. These walks are a great way for new as well as experienced birders to enjoy getting out with other birders.
Walks are open to the public and are free. Please see our calendar for details of walks. Signups are not required unless specifically stated.
On the 4th Wednesday of every month, KTOS leads a walk at Seven Islands State Birding Park. This walk starts at 8:00 am at the Bluebird barn in the main parking lot.
New Birder Walks are specifically designed for individuals who are wanting to learn the basics of birdwatching. They are usually about two hours and include topics such as how to use binoculars, what characteristics you should focus on when looking at a bird, and how to figure out what species a bird is. Please consult our calendar or KTOS Facebook page for upcoming dates of walks.
